Supporting Independence with Dignity
We've spent the last twelve years helping elderly and disabled individuals maintain their independence at home. Our team understands that small moments matter—getting ready in the morning, preparing a meal, or simply feeling safe in your own space.

How We Started This Journey
Back in 2013, I watched my grandmother struggle with simple tasks after her knee surgery. She didn't need a hospital—she just needed someone who understood that asking for help was difficult for her. The home care agencies we contacted sent different people each week, and none of them took time to learn her routines or preferences.
That experience stayed with me. When I started Urodyne with my colleague Birgitta Ekstrand, we built it around what we wished had existed for my grandmother. We match clients with consistent caregivers who actually get to know them. Not as cases or appointments, but as people with specific preferences about how they like their coffee or when they prefer to take walks.
We work primarily in Taipei's Wanhua District because we believe in serving one community well rather than spreading ourselves thin. Most of our referrals now come from families who've worked with us—which tells us more about our approach than any marketing could.
What Makes Our Approach Different
We don't follow scripts or one-size-fits-all care plans. Here's what guides our work.
Consistency Matters
You'll work with the same caregiver, not a rotation of strangers. They learn your routines, preferences, and the small things that make your day better. Most of our caregiver-client relationships last years, not weeks.
Real Training
Our caregivers complete ongoing training in mobility assistance, medication reminders, and communication with healthcare providers. We also train them in something harder to teach—listening and adapting to what each client actually needs.
Family Involvement
We send weekly updates to family members and adjust care plans based on your feedback. When medical situations change, we coordinate with your doctors and physical therapists to make sure everyone's on the same page.
Services We Provide Daily
Personal Care Support
Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. We assist with transfers and walking, always prioritizing your safety and comfort. Our approach focuses on maintaining as much independence as possible while providing support where needed.
Daily Living Assistance
Meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and errands. We work around your schedule and preferences, whether that means shopping at your favorite market or preparing meals the way you've always made them.
Core Principles That Guide Our Work
Respect for Autonomy
We're here to support your choices, not make them for you. If you want to keep cooking your own breakfast but need help with grocery shopping, that's what we'll do. Our job is helping you maintain control over your daily life, not taking it away.
Transparent Communication
When something isn't working, we talk about it directly. If a caregiver notices changes in mobility or mood, we document it and share it with family members. No surprises, no assumption that "everything's fine" when it isn't.
Continuous Improvement
Every quarter, we review care plans with clients and families. What's working? What could be better? We adjust schedules, modify approaches, and sometimes admit when we need to bring in additional resources or specialists.
Community Connection
We encourage clients to stay connected with their communities. That might mean accompanying you to religious services, helping you attend social clubs, or simply making sure you can keep up with activities that matter to you.
What Working Together Looks Like
Initial Consultation
We meet at your home to understand your needs, preferences, and daily routines. This typically takes about 90 minutes. We discuss medical conditions, mobility limitations, and what a typical day looks like for you. There's no pressure—just conversation.
Caregiver Matching
Based on our conversation, we introduce you to a caregiver whose schedule, personality, and experience align with your needs. You meet them before making any commitments. If it's not a good fit, we try again with someone different.
Trial Period
The first two weeks are a trial. We check in frequently to make sure the arrangement works for everyone. We adjust schedules, clarify expectations, and address any concerns immediately. Most matches work out, but if they don't, we find a better option.
Ongoing Partnership
Once the relationship is established, we maintain regular contact through weekly reports and monthly check-ins. As needs change—and they always do—we adapt the care plan accordingly. This isn't a set-it-and-forget-it arrangement.
Let's Talk About Your Situation
Every family's needs are different. We'd like to understand yours and explain how we might help. No obligations—just an honest conversation about what's possible.
